Jacques van Leeuwen plays frequently as solo pianist, as bandleader with his own piano trio, as sideman in different ensembles like Braafe Jongens, Blue Bird Collective, Canvas quintet amongst others. He has a broad interest for different kinds of jazz projects and styles. From bebop, mainstream till fusion and contemporary Nordic jazz. He is inspired a lot by pianist Keith Jarret, Shai Maestro, Kenny Barron, Esbjorn Svensson and Karel Boehlee.
